Gold Meadows 21.2 MW Ground Mount Array

Cranston, RI

The Gold Meadow Farms Solar Project, developed by Southern Sky Renewable Energy and currently being constructed by Conti Solar, is the largest solar farm in Rhode Island. The 21MW project is providing clean energy and jobs to hundreds of people across the state.

Conti Solar is responsible for all design, engineering, procurement and installation of the 21.28MW DC photovoltaic ground mounted solar array. The project spans over 108.27 acres of rugged terrain. To prepare the site blasting of 40,000 cubic yards of stone ledge was necessary, which was then processed and used to backfill the low areas of the site up to 18 feet in depth.

Conti’s Solar’s scope of work included design and installation of the foundations, installation of over 53,000 solar modules, 130 string inverters, two interconnections, AC and DC feeders, DC disconnects, and panelboards. Conti will complete the construction of the project in under six months.

Gold Meadow Farms is one of over 45MW of projects that Conti is currently constructing in Rhode Island. Conti Solar’s ability to execute projects with complex sitework challenges and in tight labor markets has allowed them to excel in the RI market.

This project is one of the largest solar projects in the state of Rhode Island.
